Minnesota Bound

Maternity leave is awesome, it allows me to do things that I wouldn't otherwise be able to....such as traveling to Minnesota. That's right, I made the drive back to Minnesota flying solo with 3 kiddos. (Ted had to work, boo!) They did great with the exception of the drive back home to Iowa when Hayden puked a few times. Other than that, it was just fine.

Blastball

Blastball: a modified version of t-ball in which there is only 1 squeaky base and 1 outfielder at a time.  A player hits the ball off the T, runs to the base, jumps on it to make it squeak before the outfielder gets the ball and yells, "Blast!"
Hayden plays every Thursday night for 6 weeks and loves it!

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons! Hayden participated in swimming lessons these last 2 weeks at an outdoor swimming pool. He is doing great following directions and participating. He has learned the front float, back float, jellyfish float, front glide, bobs, arm strokes, and treading water.

More Adjusting....

This time we are adjusting to the addition of Willa into our lives. She is such a sweetheart! So far she can tell the difference between night and day as she only wakes up at night to eat then falls fast asleep. She is also staying awake more during the day making it fun for the whole family to interact with her.

So far our biggest challenge has been transitioning from a family of 4 to a family of 5. Ted and I were able to handle the boys 1-1, but not anymore. Eli, however, still demands one on one attention. He is entering that 2 year old phase. We love him to pieces anyways!

Here are some more pictures.

Mark and Vicki came to meet baby Willa. They stayed in a hotel with the swimming pool in which Hayden thoroughly enjoyed. Eli....not so much. Thanks for coming!

I've been waiting to put this dress on a little girl for 5 years!

Bonus points to anyone who knows what reflex this is.
That's all I have for now. I look forward to enjoying my maternity leave with my family! I am sure the 10 weeks will just fly by. Stay tuned for the next post.
