She's Here!!!

We are so excited to announce the birth of our new daughter Willa Michelle Gustafson! She arrived on Sunday, May 27 at 8:52 pm tipping the scales at whooping 9 lbs 7 oz and 21 inches long.  Here is her story:

The day began like any other day. It was a Sunday so we went to church. Camille's parents were in town so after church Camille and the boys went to the Schlaak's house to spend some time with family. I had contractions throughout the morning which eventually dissipated so my parents headed back to Minnesota.

I also headed for home at that point. Once home, it was nap time. The boys took a good rest, but I was having trouble due to some serious contractions (4:00 pm). At that point, I decided to start timing them and they were consistently coming every 15 minutes. That's when I decided to call Ted at work to give him a heads up (5:00 pm). He was home 15 minutes later, called Lisa to come get the boys, called my doctor, and was ready to go. Good thing he was! We were at the hospital at 6:45 pm.

We got checked into the hospital and admitted to a room. At 8:52 pm Willa Michelle Gustafson entered the world a screaming. Ted and I were in awe and in love the moment we laid eyes on her. She is absolutely beautiful! One thing we didn't expect was the amount of hair that is on that girl. It might be just a little out of control, but we wouldn't have her any other way. Enjoy the pictures of our little bundle of joy!

Spring is here!

So much has happened since I last updated this blog so I will hit the ground running. Get ready for some pictures.

Gretchen Marie Schlaak was born on April 25, 2012 weighing 9 pounds 7 ounces. Congratulations Schlaak family! We absolutely love her already.

Such a pretty little girl.
Hayden was so excited to hold her.

It's been gorgeous weather lately so we have spent lots of time at the park.

What a ham.

This momma still has her balance.  :)

Hayden and Reuben climbing.
Lincoln and Eli in the burley for a bike ride.

Going through the car wash. These two were not fans.
These tough boys didn't mind though.
Some fun times in the house:

Thanks for the outfit Papa Mark and Grandma Vicki.

Movie and popcorn.
Ted had a Birthday!
He is such a blessing to our lives as he is such an amazing husband and father. I can't imagine a day without him. We were able to celebrate by going out to eat, just the two of us, and going to a movie. We saw, What to Expect When You're Expecting. What a great husband....going to a movie his wife wants to see on HIS birthday! We also enjoyed a nice steak dinner at home with the boys along with some buttermilk brownies, his favorite.

Happy 31st Birthday.

I'm still pregnant:

36 weeks
38 weeks
39 weeks
So as you can tell, this baby is getting rather large and this momma is ready to hold her in her arms. There is only less than a week until the big due date, but I anticipate that this little one will arrive late just like her brothers. I am waiting patiently until then. So in the meantime, we are preparing at home. The hospital bag is packed, car seat installed, and the cradle is up. The plan is to continue to work full time up until the birth. So while this makes my colleagues nervous at work, I am happy to work rather than count the days/hours/minutes at home.

Work has been going well. I have built up a small caseload in which my colleagues will cover for me over the course of my maternity leave. I have completed several trainings and learned lots of new techniques and assessments. I am excited to implement these into my practice and see progress! Witwer is treating me very well.

Other things:
The boys are doing great. Hayden is excited to meet his baby sister and we hope that Eli is too. Hayden likes to ride his bike and trike around and takes one of them for a spin on our walks. He can also do the monkey bars. What a stud! He is learning and writing more letters. Hayden loves to spend time with his cousins and asks for them routinely.

Eli is almost 2 and is showing signs of that age mark. He likes to climb, keeping his parents on their toes. He almost always has a bruise, scratch, or something of the like. He thinks he only needs 1 short nap a day, creating a slight battle during bed/nap times as he gets up any where from 5-10 times. He is a fun boy and loves to play with his big brother. He plays hide-and-seek and has become verbal in attempting to count. Eli talks a lot more now expanding his vocabulary. It's so fun watching him grow.
